STUDENT COUNCIL NEWS
Swift's Student Council is an organized group of students who will meet regularly, sharing in the life of our school. We elect officers and rely on many other student representives to meet regularly and serve important various roles throughout the year as members of the student council.
All members build responsibility and carry out the wishes of their peers by organizing activities to improve Swift. Members will run meetings in a democratic fashion and help the school reach shared goals towards solving real problems in our school community, such as: citizenship, involvement, service to other communities, and experiencing the power of student voice. Students will also develop skills in forming human relations, leadership, self growth, caring, sharing and of course, have fun in the process. In addition, members come to understand the importance of organization, having detailed plans and following through, publicity, making contacts with authorities, planning within a budget, creating or gathering needed supplies, and dedication to being highly involved.
